Radio Gear

My radio room doesn't have the most extravagant gear, but it more than suffices to meet my needs. Here is a sampling of the old and new that keeps the shack humming with noises late into the night.

IC-756PRO

This rig pretty much does it all for me on HF. When SSB is slow I'll move on to PSK, SSTV, RTTY or other digital modes

FT-101EE

The old Yaesu was my first HF rig bought when I was 16. I cannot sell the thing cuz it's like a heirloom piece of gear

IC706MKIIG

The versatile 706 does it all from HF thru UHF. Makes for a good backup rig in the shack.

TM3530

The old 3530 runs 220 MHz which is used for my remote base. It's an old sturdy radio that proves they just don't make'em like this anymore.

PRO-2006

I bought the 2006 scanner immediately after it came on the market. It doesn't get much use anymore but I know it'll light up just fine when it does get powered up.

ACT10-R

This old crystal radio was one of the first I bought as a kid. Today it is more of a keepsake than anything else. Fun to watch unlike the new digital scanners.

Digi-Keyer

This newest piece of gear connects the 756PRO to the computer via USB so I can run all of the digital modes without the hassles of com ports and audio cables. The best thing since the transistor!
