| These drummers were great. Yes, that's Mark joining in on the fun
along the way - master of all trades. |
 |
| This is the view from the north end of Hurricane Point looking out
to the Bixby Bridge (a little left of center). Did I mention there are a
few hills in the BSIM? |
 |
| Here's a quick photo op at the bridge with Mark, Travis and Jason. |
 |
| Even as a first time marathoner, I cannot imagine views this
spectacular anywhere else in the world for an event such as this. |
 |
| So as you can see the Bixby Bridge is behind us and - oh yeah, some
dude playing a grand piano (amplified no less) on the highway. Nothing
like a little Phantom of the Opera tune to get the juices flowing.

 |
| Notice anything wrong in this picture? This guy ran the entire
marathon running backwards and barefoot. Just sayin'. |
 |
| That outfit probably worked better during her college days, but it
did add much color. Good thing the camera wasn't nearby when I nearly
collided with her younger counterpart. How would I have explained the
gold sparkles planted in my face to the EMT's? |
 |
| Did I mention the route is a party? |
 |
| While Mark was pacing along he comes across these two gentleman with
signs pinned to their shirts. |
